DX (Group) plc gifts funds for staff training and development to Hospice UK

DX, a leading provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure courier, 2-Man and logistics services, is pleased to announce that it is gifting funds for staff training and development to Hospice UK, the national charity for hospice and end-of-life care.

DX has gifted funds worth around £45,000 to Hospice UK to fund staff training and development programmes through the Government scheme that allows companies to gift part of their Apprenticeship Levy to support other organisations. The funds will be used to train five employees of Hospice UK through courses with award-winning training provider, Corndel.

Catherine Bosworth, Hospice UK’s Director of Income Generation, is to embark on a year-long diploma from the Imperial College Business School in Leadership and Management. This qualification is the equivalent to an MBA, and will result in a certification from the Chartered Management Institute.

Four other Hospice UK employees, Paul Hodgkinson, Kate Redding, Cristina Fantechi and Amy Flavin, will complete a thirteen-month diploma in Fundraising. It covers campaign planning, donor relationship-building and digital skills.

Hospice UK supports more than 200 hospices across the UK, which care for over 300,000 people every year. It provides hospice workers with training, advice and best-practice guidelines, helping to ensure the highest quality palliative and end-of-life care. The charity also provides grants and bursaries to assist hospices with upgrades and innovations in care.

DX is delighted to support Hospice UK as it carries out such vital work. The Company aims to contribute to the wider social community, and has plans for other fundraising and charity initiatives.

Mark Hammond, Executive Chairman of DX (Group) plc, commented:

“We are very pleased to be supporting Hospice UK by gifting funding for these training courses. They will provide the charity’s staff with advanced training and development, and so help the essential work that Hospice UK provides in end-of-life care.”

Catherine Bosworth, Director of Income Generation at Hospice UK, commented:

“We are grateful to DX for donating part of its Apprenticeship Levy to Hospice UK. The staff development and training courses that this donation is funding will enable us to become more effective in our work supporting hospices up and down the country.”
