We are a trusted next day courier of Category B specimens, transporting biological samples in compliance with the industry’s highest regulations, including delivery of COVID-19 samples for the NHS, Fit-to-Fly and other private testing to many laboratories across the UK.
Complying to IATA regulation for PI 620/650, our work is independently audited 12 times a year by Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors.
We work with a combination of large health organisations and smaller, independent laboratories to ensure the safe delivery of over 635,000 specimens every year.
Samples are collected post-5pm each day and delivered pre-9am next day, nationwide. Every sample is barcode tracked, with a courier signature required on arrival. The recipient of your sample delivery will receive an ‘out for delivery’ notification by email when an item is on its way to them.
We provide the packaging for Category A infectious specimens within the UK. However, we do not transport Category A specimens.
Our packaging is fully compliant, meeting current legislative requirements for transporting Category A samples: IATA packing instruction 620 - UN2814 (or UN2900 affecting animals). We use ergonomically designed bottles that are safe for handling, with 1.5 turn lids and non-tapered aperture for easy extraction of samples. These are available in three sizes: 1, 2 and 3 litre, as well as temperature controlled packaging.
Category B specimens must be packaged in accordance with UN3373 regulations. DX provides packaging which exceeds these requirements for customers.
You complete the DX Tracked Specimen label, including all contact information, and retain the tracking number in a complimentary log book.
You take your specimens to your local Exchange in green sacks which we provide. You place these into the green sack at the Exchange for collection.
DX collects your specimen from the Exchange after 5pm Monday to Friday as standard, and delivers it to the recipient’s Exchange the following morning (Tuesday to Saturday) by 9am.
