DX achieves top environmental award
DX are delighted to confirm re-certification to an international environmental management standard.
DX are delighted to confirm that we have achieved re-certification to the international environmental management standard ISO14001:2015 following a series of audits at various Express locations by our third party accreditation body.
This is an important standard for our corporate and government customers and demonstrates DX’s ongoing commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and join the fight against climate change.
Holders of the ISO14001 standard are required to establish robust systems and processes to control environmental impacts and commit to continual improvement.
At DX, almost 80% of our carbon footprint is derived from our commercial vehicle fleet, so vehicle and route efficiency is our primary focus followed by the amount of electricity consumed to run our buildings.
Simon James, Head of Safety, Health and Environment at DX, said: "We will continue to strive to reduce our environmental impact by introducing new technology and efficiencies in this regard and we maintain annual objectives and targets to try to improve our performance.
"We have also recently developed an energy awareness and safe and efficient driving training modules on our Safety Academy which demonstrate the small steps that we can all take to help to drive environmental improvements.
"Ultimately having ISO14001 gives us real credibility in this area and we are among few similar companies who hold this important standard."
